Check out some patients' projects

Moderate deviations, due to trauma or genetics, which generate respiratory problems of the nose, can be greatly improved with surgery. It must be clear that all human beings have small asymmetries in their face and it is impossible to achieve perfect results, but it is possible to improve the appearance of the nose enough to make these asymmetries imperceptible. In the same surgery, functional problems are corrected and certain aesthetic aspects of the nose are improved. No plugs, with moderate swelling and very little bruising. Even with swelling, just a few days after surgery, these photos of our patient show these subtle but significant changes.

Everything in life is a process. Rhinoplasty is the same. You have to start with knowing the surgeon's work, attend a consultation see firsthand what can be achieved, and adjust expectations with the surgeon. Then comes the surgery that lasts 2-3 hours and later the whole recovery sometimes can be up to more than 1 year. Throughout this process, we try to accompany patients and help them adapt to change always understanding that we are all different, that all noses, however similar they may look, have their own characteristics, and that the change is individual, unique and to improve some characteristics but never perfect.

A male nose requires a technique focused on results that are in accordance with the characteristics of the patient's face. It is always better to leave the noses more natural, with less exaggerated tip angles and not to mutilate the noses. It is not necessary to look for very small noses. What a male nose requires is simply easy-to-follow lines with slightly more defined angles. Adapting the techniques to each patient is difficult, but once it is achieved, the results are very pleasing.

How much can the nose change in a thick-skinned person? This is a frequent question from our patients. The noses with this type of skin can improve a lot. They usually require a little more work and tend to swell a little more, but it is possible to achieve an excellent result as long as expectations are realistic, remembering that the idea is not to create a perfect nose but to achieve a harmonious change in the face of each patient.

We must all learn to organize our projects with uncertainty in mind. Almost nothing in this life is certain. Establishing objectives and having the best conditions to achieve them does not imply that we are going to achieve them. In nose surgery, it is necessary to be precise; the objectives or expectations can be achieved, even improved, or even come closer to what was initially planned, even if they are not completely achieved. So, not all noses are going to be perfect or exactly the same as the designs we make in consultation, but we can get very close to the results. Having a realistic expectation is what helps the most in the process of adaptation and acceptance of the final result. In the photos, a very nice result in a nose with very difficult initial conditions, in a beautiful face. A challenge. With very similar initial expectations, we achieved the goal with much love and dedication in the operating room and during the postoperative period.

So many smiles and good energy come with most of my patients that I declare myself lucky. Beautiful patients, with beautiful souls and natural results.

In the picture, the patient is 7 months post-surgery.
